Recently, comedian Park Mi-sun, who had completely halted her broadcasting activities amid health concerns, has been confirmed to have received an early diagnosis of breast cancer. According to the broadcasting industry, Park Mi-sun was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer during a health check-up earlier this year and is currently focusing on her treatment.
Park Mi-sun has completed all scheduled radiation treatments and is reportedly working on her recovery while undergoing medication treatment. Her agency, Cube Entertainment, stated, "It is difficult to confirm the exact details as it is personal medical information," but added, "She is taking a break for health reasons." They also reassured fans, saying, "I understand that it is not a very serious situation."
Her husband, comedian Lee Bong-won, appeared on MBC's 'Radio Star' in June and shared, "She is receiving good treatment and resting. She is properly recharging during this opportunity," providing updates on his wife's condition. Fellow comedian Jo Hye-ryun also sent a message of support on MBC Radio's 'Two O'Clock Date with Ahn Young-mi' on the 18th, saying, "People are curious about Mi-sun's recent status, and I pray for her every day." Lee Kyung-sil also expressed her wishes for Park Mi-sun's recovery through social media, saying, "I made watermelon pickles to send to my sister. I miss her so much. Many people are praying for her. I hope she doesn't feel lonely and just focuses on her health."
Park Mi-sun debuted as a comedian through MBC's public recruitment in 1988 and married comedian Lee Bong-won in 1993, with whom she has one son and one daughter. She has been loved by the public for her active participation in various broadcasting programs.
