
Santa Monica, California — Activision officially announced today that the global release date for the latest installment of the annual franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 (hereafter referred to as Black Ops 7), is set for November 14, 2025. This title is a direct sequel to Black Ops 6 and Black Ops 2, and it has generated excitement since its initial reveal at the Xbox Games Showcase, with additional information released at Gamescom 2025.

The setting year is 2035. Over 40 years after Black Ops 6 (1990s) and 10 years after Black Ops 2 (2025), the world is shaken by unprecedented chaos and psychological warfare. David Mason and his team mobilize cutting-edge technology to counter the Manipulator, who weaponizes fear. The creators describe this installment as “the evolution of the Black Ops series and the most mind-bending experience.”

The cinematic debut trailer was revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase, and additional trailers along with a 17-minute Direct were showcased at Gamescom, hinting at the future war narrative and the return of iconic characters. Detailed videos will be released sequentially through official channels.
Black Ops 7 is available for pre-order, and Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play it immediately on release day. The beta early access will be provided to selected Game Pass subscribers and pre-order customers, with a full open beta taking place from October 5-8. Details on edition configurations, regional sales policies, and specific content will be announced separately in the future.
Call of Duty is developed based on a unified engine, and this title will also be produced through that pipeline. Treyarch and Raven Software are co-leading, with Activision's global studio network participating in the development.
Black Ops 7 marks the first time in the series that Black Ops titles are released consecutively for two years. It is designed to enhance continuity across story, gameplay, and service while reflecting community feedback, allowing players' combat identity and progression to flow naturally.
