The global mobile game market is experiencing record-breaking growth in the first half of 2025, reaching a new turning point.

According to the latest industry report, the revenue of the global mobile game market is expected to surpass $125 billion in the first half of 2025, showing a 22% growth compared to the same period last year. This figure significantly exceeds expectations, solidifying mobile games' dominance, which now account for 75% of the entire gaming market.

Regionally, the Asia-Pacific region recorded an overwhelming first place with 58% of total revenue, amounting to $72.5 billion. Notably, China ($32 billion), Japan ($18 billion), and South Korea ($9.5 billion) formed the top ranks.

A noteworthy point is the global success of Korean games. Tencent's 'Honor of Kings' ranked first in global mobile game revenue, while Netmarble's 'The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross' and Com2uS's 'Summoners War: Sky Arena' ranked 7th and 12th, respectively.

By genre, RPG games maintained the top position with a 35% market share, followed by strategy simulation (28%), puzzle (15%), and action (12%). In particular, new forms of games that incorporate the metaverse and NFTs are gaining attention.

Industry experts predict that 'the growth trend of the mobile game market will continue in the second half of 2025,' stating that 'the expansion of 5G technology and the development of cloud gaming services will be new growth drivers.'
