ADOR, Lee Do-kyung Appointed as New CEO

The agency ADOR of the girl group NewJeans announced on the 20th that it has appointed Lee Do-kyung, the Vice President (VP), as the new CEO. ADOR explained that this personnel change is to "fully operationalize the label as a management entity that plans and manages artist activities such as albums and performances."

The new CEO joined HYBE (formerly Big Hit Entertainment), ADOR's parent company, in 2019 and has been responsible for establishing the company's vision and business strategy, as well as various new business initiatives. In particular, in 2022, he served as the Vice President of the IPX business division, which promotes artist intellectual property (IP)-based businesses for HYBE's artists, developing solution businesses utilizing artist IP.

The CEO oversaw merchandise, pop-up stores, and light stick projects for HYBE's artists, and planned and promoted the 'THE CITY' project, a large-scale collaboration business utilizing artist IP in cities where performances are held.

Previously, in August of last year, ADOR replaced CEO Min Hee-jin with HR expert Kim Joo-young, citing the separation of production and management and the normalization of organization and management. The ADOR board stated that it appointed the new CEO, who is well-versed in label management practices, to transition to an operational system that supports the growth of affiliated artists and labels, as well as artist activities and business initiatives, as the initial goals have been achieved.

Currently, ADOR has the girl group NewJeans, which is in a contract dispute, and in June, it held a global audition to recruit members for a next-generation boy group, preparing for the production of new artists as well.
