Bae Hyun-sung, Cha Kang-yoon and Park Yoon-ho’s ‘The Substitute’ Unveils Teaser Trailer for Uncontrollable Crime Thriller

The uncontrollable crime thriller 〈The Substitute〉 has captivated viewers with its teaser trailer.

TVING Original Series 〈The Substitute〉 released its teaser trailer on October 26. 〈The Substitute〉 tells the story of three people who, on a single day when their lives are at stake, find their struggles and desires colliding as they turn to an irreversible crime. The series has already drawn attention for bringing together three actors: Bae Hyun-sung as Nam Jae-yeop, who hides a secret behind a flawless facade; Cha Kang-yoon as Kang Geon-tae, who makes a dangerous choice to survive; and Park Yoon-ho as Joo Hee-dong, whose friendship begins to fracture as he emerges as an unpredictable wildcard.

The newly released teaser trailer shows Nam Jae-yeop, Kang Geon-tae and Joo Hee-dong getting involved in something that sends events rapidly spiraling out of control. Nam Jae-yeop appears to be a perfect, well-rounded model student, but lives with a private struggle; Kang Geon-tae is a miracle student on a “special scholarship for low-income students”; and Hee-dong is Geon-tae’s only friend. The deal they make, each crossing the line to pursue their own desires, sparks viewers’ curiosity. The trailer also hints that the story is tied to the CSAT—the college entrance exam that can determine the course of one’s life—on “a single day when their lives are at stake,” raising even more questions about the conflicts awaiting the three.

TVING Original Series 〈The Substitute〉 will be available exclusively on TVING starting Monday, November 23.
