'Ewha Blanket Cinema' Opens on the 30th, Screening Classics for an Autumn Night: 'Little Forest' and 'Midnight in Paris'

Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, will host “Ewha Blanket Cinema” at Daehyeon Cultural Park on the 30th and 31st. The event is being seen as a strategic initiative that goes beyond a cultural program to foster cooperation with local businesses, which have been struggling.

The event will run from noon to 9 p.m., with the main program, the film screenings, starting at 6 p.m. During the day, visitors can browse a lively market featuring handcrafted goods and general merchandise and enjoy street performances. In the evening, they can settle in under their own blankets and quilts to watch films on an outdoor screen—a distinctive experience.

A Romantic Screen in the City Aims to Spark Local Economic Revitalization

The films were also carefully selected as well-made works suited to the mood of an autumn evening. On the 30th, the Korean film “Little Forest” (rated for all ages), about finding healing in nature after leaving behind a busy daily routine, will fill the screen. On the 31st, the acclaimed romantic comedy “Midnight in Paris” (for ages 15 and older), which captures the beauty and romance of Paris at night, will stir audiences’ emotions.

With “Ewha Blanket Cinema,” Seodaemun-gu is carefully working to revive the business district in front of Ewha Womans University. Practical events linking the screenings to local businesses will also be held so that residents who come to watch a film can naturally stop by nearby shops.
