According to Spotify, the global music streaming platform, “Midnight Fiction,” a track from ILLIT’s first mini album, “SUPER REAL ME,” surpassed 100 million cumulative streams as of the 28th. That brings the number of ILLIT songs to reach 100 million streams on Spotify to nine. Earlier, on the 25th, “Lucky Girl Syndrome,” also from the album, passed 200 million cumulative streams, becoming the group’s fifth song to reach that milestone.

Album tracks win over listeners worldwide with their distinctive sound

The songs are tracks from ILLIT’s 2024 debut album and continue to draw listeners. “Midnight Fiction” is a modern pop song combining a dreamlike melody with psychedelic rhythms. Its lyrics imagine the small hours of the morning when sleep won’t come, earning praise from listeners. Follow-up track “Lucky Girl Syndrome” quickly won listeners over with its positive energy and celebration of everyday joys. ILLIT’s debut song “Magnetic” has surpassed 900 million cumulative Spotify streams. “Cherish (My Love)” and “Tick-Tack” have each surpassed 200 million plays, while “NOT CUTE ANYMORE” and “Do the Dance,” among others, have each topped 100 million, showcasing the group’s staying power.

Alongside the enduring popularity of its earlier releases, ILLIT’s new album is also making a strong showing on charts at home and abroad. The fifth mini album, “BREAK EVEN,” released on the 26th, landed near the top of major album charts in South Korea and Japan. Its title track, “You’re Under Arrest,” debuted at No. 72 on Melon’s Top 100 immediately after release, then climbed sharply to No. 5 in just four days. The song’s music video also ranked No. 5 on YouTube’s global Daily Music Videos chart dated the 27th, extending the group’s strong momentum in South Korea and abroad.
