<아쿠아맨> <조커> <버즈 오브 프레이(할리퀸의 황홀한 해방)>까지 연타 홈런을 날리며 되살아나고 있는 DC. 몇 년 전까지만해도 DC는 히어로 월드의 찬밥 신세를 면치 못했습니다. 팬들에게마저 완전히 외면당한 건 언제부터였을까요? “님은 갔습니다. 아아, 사랑하는 나의 님은 갔습니다” 외치게 만든 영화, <원더우먼>의 성공으로 되살아난 DC 팬들의 한 가닥 기대마저 꺾어버린 영화, 바로 <저스티스 리그>였습니다.
<저스티스 리그>는 공개되기 전부터 많은 역경을 거쳤습니다. 시리즈의 전편을 연출한 잭 스나이더 감독이 연출을 맡았으나, 딸의 자살이라는 비극을 겪으며 중도 하차했죠. <어벤져스>를 연출한 조스 웨던 감독의 그 자리를 메워 후반 작업을 이어나갔습니다. 극과 극의 연출 스타일을 지닌 두 감독. 결과적으론 모두를 만족시키지 못한 결과물이 나오고 말았죠. 허술한 전개와 뜬금없는 웃음 코드를 장착했던 <저스티스 리그>는 <맨 오브 스틸>보다도 낮은 성적을 기록하며 DC 팬들에게 실망을 안겼습니다.
