52nd Seoul Independent Film Festival sets record with 1,917 entries, announces 10-day celebration

The 2026 Seoul Independent Film Festival, now in its 52nd year, received 1,917 entries, the most in its history. Submissions rose 6.2% from the previous year, including 1,715 shorts and 202 features, underscoring the strength of independent filmmaking. The festival is expanding its run to 10 days this year to improve audience access and will open Nov. 25 at CGV Apgujeong.
