Interview: Jin Gi-ju says corporal punishment is 'a very dangerous act.'

▶ 〈Teach You a Lesson〉 Jin Gi-ju interview continues from Part 1. What were your real school days like. They were just ordinary. I would cram for tests, I really wanted to hang out every day but studied because I had to, and I loved club activities. Did a teacher ever actually hit you.

Hong Kong Retro Movie Tour ③ ‘Kowloon Walled City: The Untold Stories’ — The Kowloon Walled City Park Set That Revives Memories of Hong Kong Cinema

Erased in 1993, the Kowloon Walled City — left behind as “Kowloon Walled City Park” — was a bleak illegal residential zone where no sliver of sunlight ever reached.
When director Jingle Bao-rui’s 〈Kowloon Walled City: The Untold Stories〉 (hereinafter 〈Kowloon Walled City〉, 2024) hit theaters in Hong Kong in 2024, it set a record for the biggest box-office success in Hong Kong history.

[Kim Ji-yeon's Treasure Box] The Actor Buzzworthy Dramas Discovered First: Chae Seo-an of 'Brave New World' and 'The Great Lady of the 21st Century'

I'm curious about people. Even actors already drawing attention can still be at their most obscure. 'Kim Ji-yeon's Treasure Box' spotlights performers whose profiles are still rising. Consider this an early look at actors whose careers are climbing fast.
An intriguing new actor is emerging fast. After making a meteoric entrance as the plaintive 'Mrs. Hak' in 〈Completely Fooled〉, Chae Seo-an went on to play IU's not-quite-hateful, slightly obnoxious new sister-in-law in 〈The Great Lady of the 21st Century〉 and has kept turning up in one buzzy...

[Joo Seong-cheol’s Locker] Do You Know the Origin of Woody in “Toy Story”?

I can’t stop fixating on the objects in the movies. I get pulled into deep thought over why—director, cinematographer, production designer, maybe even an actor—someone put that object in front of the camera. “Joo Seong-cheol’s Locker” is a record of the objects from films that landed in my eyes, as if they gently stepped over them.
〈Toy Story 2〉 (1999)’s opening begins as if it were a scene from the 〈Star Wars〉 series. And in the moment of crisis, Woody recites the lines “Think about it, think about it,” like the way Dong-su (Kim Sang-kyung) does in 〈Theater Jeon〉 (2005) or Yeon-hong (Son Ye-jin) does in 〈No Secrets〉 (2016).
