Wendy to Make Solo Comeback in September After Parting Ways with SM

Singer Wendy will return to the music scene this September with her first solo album after parting ways with SM Entertainment. Wendy has confirmed the release of her solo album this fall and is ramping up her final preparations.

Wendy ended her exclusive contract with SM after mutual discussions this year and signed with the new entertainment company Ascend. Ascend has been making efforts since signing five members of Fromis_9—Song Ha-young, Park Ji-won, Lee Na-kyung, Lee Chae-young, and Baek Ji-heon—last January, and now with Wendy on board. Even after leaving SM, Wendy has decided to continue group activities and has been consistently communicating with fans while focusing on her DJ role on SBS Power FM's 'Wendy's Young Street' and her personal activities. This new song is expected to showcase Wendy's deepening musical capabilities and mature charm, particularly as she attempts various genres to present a more diverse image.
