Netflix original 〈History of Confession〉 has released its poster and trailer along with the release date.
Starring Gong Myung and Shin Eun-soo, 〈History of Confession〉 tells the story of Park Se-ri, who has been self-conscious about her curly hair since 1998, as she plans a strategy to straighten her hair before her once-in-a-lifetime confession, getting entangled with the transfer student Han Yoon-seok. Set against the backdrop of the late 20th century, Netflix aims to deliver a fresh and heart-fluttering love story, moving away from the spicy narratives of the past.
The trailer begins with Park Se-ri (Shin Eun-soo) humorously reflecting on how her life started to get tangled as her hair did, briefly showing how she meets the school’s most popular guy, Kim Hyun (Cha Woo-min), and how she and transfer student Han Yoon-seok (Gong Myung) help each other. Additionally, as it is set in the 90s, various retro items are featured in the film, conveying the rough yet warm emotions of that era.
〈History of Confession〉 will be exclusively released on Netflix on August 29. Directed and written by Namgoong Sun, who also directed 〈Ten Months in the Future〉 and 〈Time to Cheer Up〉, the film is produced by Bom Baram Film Company.
