Rosé Nominated for 8 Categories at MTV VMA... Competing for Major Awards with Duet 'APT.' with Bruno Mars

Rosé of the group BLACKPINK has set a record by being nominated in a total of 8 categories at the prestigious '2025 MTV Video Music Awards' (VMA).

According to the list of nominees released on the official VMA website on the 5th (local time), Rosé has been nominated in 7 categories, including the highest honors of 'Video of the Year' and 'Song of the Year' for her collaboration track 'APT.' with pop star Bruno Mars.

Additionally, her solo album track 'toxic till the end' from 'rosie' has been added as a nominee in the 'Best K-Pop' category, opening up the possibility for Rosé to win up to 8 awards.

'APT.' has also been nominated in categories such as 'Best Collaboration', 'Best Pop', 'Best Direction', 'Best Art Direction', and 'Best Visual Effects'.

The artist with the most nominations this year at the VMA is Lady Gaga, who received nominations in 12 categories, while Bruno Mars, who collaborated with Rosé, ranked second with 11 nominations.

Rosé expressed her feelings in a video posted on her Instagram on the 6th, saying, "I just heard that I was nominated for 8 categories at the VMA," and added, "I’m in shock and don’t know what to say."

Notably, all members of BLACKPINK have been nominated in the VMA 'Best K-Pop' category. In addition to Rosé, Jennie's 'like JENNIE', Jisoo's 'earthquake', and Lisa's 'Born Again' are all included as nominees.

Additionally, in this category, aespa's 'Whiplash', BTS's Jimin's 'Who', and Stray Kids' 'Chk Chk Boom' are also competing.

Meanwhile, the HYBE-Korea and U.S. joint girl group CAT'S EYE has been nominated for 'PUSH Performance of the Year' with their song 'Touch'. This award is given to one of the artists featured in MTV's monthly 'MTV PUSH' campaign.

The 2025 MTV VMA ceremony is scheduled to be held on the 7th of next month (local time) at the UBS Arena in New York.
