The national animation 〈Run Hani〉 celebrates its 40th anniversary with the first official movie 〈Bad Girl: Run Hani〉 set to release in October 2025, and has unveiled a 'Special Taegukgi Poster' in commemoration of Liberation Day. The released poster captures attention with a dynamic depiction of 'Na Ae-ri' and 'Hani' running vigorously against the backdrop of the Taegukgi, celebrating the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation in 2025 and the 40th anniversary of 〈Run Hani〉. As the title suggests, this movie will focus on 'Na Ae-ri' as the protagonist, revealing the backstory of 'Na Ae-ri', who was thought to be the villain, raising anticipation. Notably, it will showcase a new style of competition centered around 'street running' set in various impressive urban locations in Korea rather than on a track.
Originally serialized in 1985 and aired as an animation in 1988, 〈Run Hani〉 gained explosive popularity as it tells the story of 'Hani', who lives alone in a rooftop room after losing her mother, meeting her teacher Hong Duk-gae after entering middle school, and nurturing her dream of becoming an athlete. The series resonated with many due to themes of longing for parents and rivalry with Na Ae-ri. The first official movie 〈Bad Girl: Run Hani〉 marks the 40th anniversary and is the founding work of the animation production company Playcan Co., Ltd., which is responsible for planning, production, screenplay, producing, and music, while animation production is jointly handled by Studio Goindol Co., Ltd., Red Dog Culture House Co., Ltd., Big Pine Studio Co., Ltd., W.A.G.E. Co., Ltd., and Studio Animal Co., Ltd.
