'Reply 1988' 10th Anniversary MT, Ryu Jun-yeol Will Not Attend Due to Schedule Conflicts

Actor Ryu Jun-yeol has announced that he will not attend the group MT organized to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the tvN drama 〈Reply 1988〉. This MT is said to be a special gathering prepared to commemorate the 10th anniversary with key production staff including director Shin Won-ho and writer Lee Woo-jung, along with the cast, at a location in Gangwon-do in early October. However, Ryu Jun-yeol is currently busy filming the new Netflix project 〈The Drug Dealer〉 and will unfortunately be unable to attend this event.

〈Reply 1988〉 depicts the lives of five ordinary families set in the alleys of Ssangmun-dong, Dobong-gu, Seoul in 1988, and first aired on November 6, 2015, until January 16, 2016, achieving a peak rating of 18.8% (based on Nielsen Korea paid households) and establishing itself as a national drama. In particular, the reunion of Hyeri and Ryu Jun-yeol, who gained immense popularity as the 'Deok-seon and Jung-hwan (Jung-pal)' couple, had been a topic of great interest for a while, but it seems that this reunion will not happen at the MT. Hyeri has confirmed her attendance.

Meanwhile, this 10th anniversary MT will be released as special content reminiscing about the drama on the official YouTube channel of the production company Egg Is Coming, 〈Channel 15ya〉. The production team and cast of the drama 〈Reply 1988〉 have continued to hold regular meetings, and this MT is also being arranged as a meaningful occasion to celebrate the 10 years. A tvN representative stated, "We are discussing the 10th anniversary content, but the detailed schedule has not yet been finalized," expressing a cautious stance.
