Singer and actress Nam Gyu-ri candidly revealed the difficulties of reuniting with the group SeeYa and her distant relationship with the members.
Failed Reunion, 'The Song Went to Another Singer'
On the 18th, a video titled 'Why Can't SeeYa Reunite? | Personal Appearance | Look Me Up | Still Like It | Nam Gyu-ri' was posted on the Wonder K YouTube channel.
SeeYa, which debuted in 2006, gained popularity with songs like 'The Scent of a Woman', 'Shoes', and 'Crazy Love Song'. Nam Gyu-ri left the group in 2009, and SeeYa continued with new member Sumi before disbanding in 2011. They attempted to reunite after appearing on JTBC's 'Sugar Man' in 2020, but it fell through.
Nam Gyu-ri stated, 'The process of reunion was not easy. I wanted to reunite more because we couldn't properly explain ourselves for a long time, but after appearing on Sugar Man, I realized that many people missed us and loved us. I wanted to repay that love, not for us, but for them.'
She continued, 'Songwriters Cho Young-soo and Kim Do-hoon gave us songs. We practiced and recorded, but without knowing, the song went to another singer. That was the beginning of the collapse.' She explained the process of the failed reunion.

'I Don't Contact the Members' Distant Relationship
Nam Gyu-ri confessed, 'Honestly, I don't contact the members,' and added, 'I found out that Yeon-ji had surgery for a vocal cord cyst on YouTube. I felt bad. I thought about sending something good for her throat, but it had been so long since I contacted her that it was hard to muster the courage.'
She reflected, 'What I regret now is wondering how it would have been if we had stuck together better. I think we will definitely meet someday, and we must.' She expressed hope for the future.
'400 Million Won in 3 Years' Reality Revelation
Regarding the rumor that 'SeeYa earned 400 million won in 3 years', she said, 'I couldn't earn any money at all. I lived in a one-room apartment with a deposit of a few hundred thousand won and a monthly rent of 350,000 won, but there was really a lot of work. I felt a disconnect with reality, and while I was struggling, people kept cheering for me, so it felt completely unrealistic.' She shared the difficult situation at that time.
New Song 'Still Like It' Release
Meanwhile, Nam Gyu-ri continues her solo activities, having released her new song 'Still Like It' on the 17th. Attention is focused on her as she reflects on her past with SeeYa and embarks on a new musical journey.
