Singer and actor Kang Ji-young and Lee Gi-kwang star in the action thriller movie 〈I Kill You〉's drama version, which will meet viewers on the 22nd through online video service (OTT) platforms. This work, released simultaneously on Wavve and Watcha, is gaining attention as a new attempt to expand the existing movie into a series.
Produced as a total of 6 episodes, 〈I Kill You〉 depicts the struggles of Sun-woo, a 'dirt spoon' who was once a promising taekwondo athlete, as he gets caught up in a huge conspiracy to pay for his mother's hospital bills.
Kang Ji-young expands her acting spectrum by playing dual roles as the protagonist Sun-woo and the granddaughter of a chaebol, Ji-yeon. Lee Gi-kwang portrays Ho-jung, Ji-yeon's half-brother who aims for the family heir position, expressing the power struggles that unfold within a complex family relationship.
Previously produced as a movie, 〈I Kill You〉 is the latest work by director Yoo Ha, known for directing 〈Spirit Of Jeet Keun Do-Once Upon A Time In High School〉 and 〈A Dirty Carnival〉, and it marks Lee Gi-kwang's screen debut, drawing attention. After its release, the film was selected as an invited work for the 29th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival and won the 'Mélies International Festivals Federation Asia Film Award'.
The production team stated, "The series version will maximize immersion with a story different from the film festival screening version."
