The new KBS2 weekend drama 'Twelve' starring Ma Dong-seok made a spectacular start by recording a nationwide viewership of 8.1% from its first broadcast. According to Nielsen Korea, the first episode of 'Twelve', aired on the 23rd, recorded a peak of 11.7% in the Daejeon area, with 6.5% in Seoul and 7.2% in the metropolitan area, showing a high national average of 8.1%. This figure topped the major competitors in the same time slot, once again proving Ma Dong-seok's strong box office power.
The drama 'Twelve' is an action series depicting the battle against the evil force 'Ogui', which awakens from a seal after 12 angels, living in human form, have protected humanity for thousands of years. In the first episode, various angel characters appeared in different forms in real life, showcasing a fresh worldview. The tiger angel Taesan (Ma Dong-seok) captured attention with his overwhelming presence and charisma, while episodes with debtors as the representative of Angel Capital and the delightful character play of office staff boasting a 100% collection rate vividly illustrated the activities of each angel, including the 100% healing rate of the doctor and nurse at Taesan Oriental Medicine Clinic.
The dragon angel Mir (Lee Joo-bin) uniquely worked as a museum curator, separated from her colleagues, adding curiosity about her hidden past and abilities. The tension in the plot increased with the emergence of the dark power that resurrects Ogui (Park Hyung-sik) by the priest Samin (Kim Chan-hyung). Above all, the intense action sequences led by Taesan and the angels heightened the viewers' immersion.
'Twelve' consists of a total of 8 episodes and is attracting attention as Ma Dong-seok's return to terrestrial broadcasting after 9 years. It features a glamorous cast including Park Hyung-sik, Seo In-guk, Sung Dong-il, Lee Joo-bin, Ko Gyu-pil, Kang Mina, and Sung Yu-bin, and will also be available on Disney+.
