Box Office Sweep...2025's Highest Grossing Film & Fastest to 1 Million

Over the weekend, two films announced good news and sailed smoothly.

According to the integrated ticketing system on August 25, 〈Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle〉 took first place at the box office, while 〈Zombie Daughter〉 secured second place. Both films surpassed 1.5 million and 5 million viewers, respectively, starting from the weekend.

〈Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle〉 is an animated film based on the 〈Demon Slayer〉 series that was released on August 22. Before its release, it secured 800,000 advance ticket sales, indicating a promising box office performance, and within just 3 days of its release, it attracted 1.64 million viewers. The animation depicts the final battle between man-eating demons and the Demon Slayer Corps. It has also ranked third in all-time box office rankings in Japan and is currently enjoying a long run, suggesting that it has just started to gain momentum in Korea.

〈Zombie Daughter〉 has surpassed 5 million viewers, claiming the title of the first film this year to reach 5 million viewers and the highest-grossing film. 〈Zombie Daughter〉 tells the story of a father who secretly takes care of his daughter who has turned into a zombie, based on the webtoon of the same name. It stars Jo Jung-seok, Lee Jeong-eun, Jo Yeo-jeong, Yoon Kyung-ho, and Choi Yu-ri, with director Pil Gam-seong at the helm.
