Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle, The Final Battle at the Blood Demon’s Lair!

The representative work of Japanese animation, 'Demon Slayer', returns as a theatrical film dealing with the final phase, promising another box office sensation.

Directed by Haruo Sotozaki, 〈Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle〉 depicts the final battle between the Blood Demons, who indiscriminately kill humans, and the Demon Slayer Corps. This is the first part of a trilogy that will cover the climax of the original manga.

The core of this work is a large-scale battle led by Kibutsuji Muzan, the leader of the Blood Demons, who lures the Demon Slayer members into his lair, 'Infinity Castle'. The Demon Slayer Corps devises a 'ground war' strategy to hold out until sunrise, but they face difficulties continuing the battle in the multidimensional structure of Infinity Castle, where directions are reversed and new spaces are constantly created.

In particular, this installment features the revenge battle between the protagonist Tanjiro and the Upper Moon 3 Blood Demon Akaza, who killed Rengoku Kyojuro in the previous film 〈Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie - Mugen Train〉. The battle scenes unfold in a three-dimensional space, intercutting the backstories of the Blood Demons, adding depth to the characters.

The film also teases the activities of key members of the Demon Slayer Corps, including Tanjiro's sister Nezuko, Zenitsu, Inosuke, Kanroji, and Himejima, in a trailer format, raising expectations for the sequel.

The work visually implements the unique breathing techniques of the Demon Slayer members, such as 'Water Breathing' and 'Flame Breathing'. The delicate depiction of steam rising from heated bodies during battles and the sound of Tanjiro's earrings fluttering in the wind provides an immersive experience unique to the theatrical version.

'Demon Slayer' is a work created by the Japanese manga artist Koyoharu Gotouge, set in the Taisho era (1912-1926), dealing with the struggle between humans and Blood Demons that eat humans. In Korean theaters, it will be screened in various special theaters such as CGV IMAX, 4DX, Lotte Cinema Superplex, Gwang-eum Cinema, and Megabox Dolby Cinema, and is scheduled to be released on the 22nd.
