Disney+, First Original Historical Drama 'The Murky Stream' Released

Global online video service (OTT) Disney+ is releasing its first original historical drama series.

Disney+ announced on the 11th that it will exclusively release its first original historical drama 〈The Murky Stream〉 next month. This work is the first historical drama genre original content that Disney+ presents in the Korean market, attracting attention as an attempt to diversify the platform's genres.

〈The Murky Stream〉 is directed by Choo Chang-min, who attracted ten million viewers with the film 〈Masquerade〉. The script is written by Chun Sung-il, who is responsible for the drama 〈Chuno〉, raising expectations for its quality.

The cast includes Rowoon, Shin Ye-eun, Park Seo-ham, and Park Ji-hwan. They are expected to portray the stories of ordinary people from the past who wanted to live like humans.

〈The Murky Stream〉 has been officially invited to the On Screen section of the 30th Busan International Film Festival. The work is set to have its first meeting with the audience through a premiere screening in Busan on the 17th of next month, ahead of its OTT release.
