Soo-hyun, Host of the Closing Ceremony of the 30th Busan International Film Festival

Actress Soo-hyun, who has gained international recognition through her entry into Hollywood, was announced as the host of the closing ceremony of the 30th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), which will open next month, by the organizers on the 11th.

The Busan International Film Festival Secretariat revealed that after selecting actor Lee Byung-hun as the host for the opening ceremony, Soo-hyun will take on the role of host for the closing ceremony alone.

Soo-hyun, who began her acting career in 2006, made her Hollywood debut as the first Korean actress to appear in a Marvel Cinematic Universe film, 〈Avengers: Age of Ultron〉, paving the way for her entry into Hollywood. Since then, she has been cast in Hollywood projects including the 〈Harry Potter〉 spin-off 〈Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald〉, 〈The Dark Tower〉, and 〈Equals〉, solidifying her position as an actress.

In her domestic activities, Soo-hyun has consistently shown impressive results. She has received attention for her performances in the drama 〈It's Not a Hero〉 and the Netflix original series 〈Gyeongseong Creature〉, and was recognized for her acting skills by winning the Best Supporting Actress award at the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards for the film 〈A Normal Family〉.

A film festival official expressed anticipation, stating, "Actress Soo-hyun, who has captivated audiences worldwide with her overwhelming presence, atmosphere, and profound acting, will conclude the intense afterglow of the ten-day film festival."

The closing ceremony will also feature the newly established competitive section, the 'Busan Award' ceremony. The 30th Busan International Film Festival will be held from the 17th to the 26th of next month at the Busan Cinema Center.
