The movie 〈My Daughter is a Zombie〉 is riding the wave of success, surpassing 3 million viewers.
Released on July 30, 〈My Daughter is a Zombie〉 tells the story of Seong-hwan (Jo Jung-seok) trying to protect his daughter Sua (Choi Yu-ri), who has turned into a zombie after a zombie virus swept the world. The film, which faithfully adapts the humor and emotional narrative of the original webtoon, surpassed 1 million viewers within just 4 days of its release, generating buzz.
Among this year's releases, 〈My Daughter is a Zombie〉 has shown an overwhelmingly fast box office pace, attracting 350,000 viewers on Saturday, August 9, and successfully surpassing 3 million viewers. On the following Sunday, 320,000 viewers also flocked to 〈My Daughter is a Zombie〉, recording a total of 3.35 million viewers as of August 10. This narrows the gap to just 20,000 viewers behind the highest-grossing Korean film of 2025, 〈Opposition〉 (directed by Hwang Byeong-guk), suggesting it may take that title soon.
Meanwhile, 〈My Daughter is a Zombie〉 has released a thank you image for surpassing 3 million viewers, and there is growing interest in whether Jo Jung-seok and Yoon Kyung-ho, who mentioned during an appearance on a YouTube channel that they would take on the 'Soda Pop Challenge' from the movie 〈K-Pop Demon Hunters〉 as a promise for surpassing 3 million viewers, will actually follow through with the challenge.
