Actress Yeom Hye-ran appeared on MBC 〈Son Seok-hee's Questions〉. This broadcast, which drew attention for being her first appearance on a TV talk show, was filled with honest confessions for 75 minutes, covering her theater stage days that made her who she is today to behind-the-scenes stories of her recent works.
Yeom Hye-ran unexpectedly requested, "I think it would be more comfortable if you call me Hye-ran," and after a moment of hesitation, Son Seok-hee responded, "Hye-ran, let's do well today," receiving a big cheer from the audience.
The conversation also continued about her character Gwang-rye in the Netflix series 〈Poksak Sogassuda〉. She shared her efforts to overcome her fear of water for the role of Gwang-rye, a Jeju haenyeo (female diver), and the difficulties of filming while wearing goggles and water clothes made of wood that matched the historical background of the 1950s, which drew gasps from the audience. However, more than that exhausting experience, she confessed, "I received great comfort through the drama," especially through Gwang-rye's reincarnation, saying, "Death is a physical separation, but I received the message that another existence will remain by my side, cheering for me and wishing me happiness. That thought brought me to tears." She also expressed her special affection for the character Gwang-rye, saying, "The character Gwang-rye is so precious to me that I wanted to hold onto that aftertaste for a long time," revealing her cautious feelings about appearing in advertisements after 〈Poksak Sogassuda〉.
〈Son Seok-hee's Questions〉 airs every Wednesday night at 9 PM.
