'Face' Park Jeongmin, Kwon Hae-hyo, Shin Hyun-bin, Lim Sung-jae, Han Ji-hyun's Passionate Acting

Director Yeon Sang-ho is raising expectations for the return of the 'Genesis Universe' with the film 〈Face〉, which contains the sharp awareness of issues and firm thematic consciousness shown in his early works. The passionate acting of the main cast, including Park Jeongmin, Kwon Hae-hyo, Shin Hyun-bin, Lim Sung-jae, and Han Ji-hyun, who represent Korean cinema, is drawing attention.

The film 〈Face〉​, which is confirmed to be released in theaters on September 11, depicts the story of 'Lim Young-kyu', who is blind but has become a master in the field of engraving, and his son 'Lim Dong-hwan', who uncovers the mystery of his mother's death that has been buried for 40 years. The actors of 〈Face〉, who are loved by the public for their broad acting spectrum and irreplaceable character portrayal, are showcasing their extraordinary passion for acting in a well-made film. First, Park Jeongmin challenges the role of playing both the young 'Lim Young-kyu', who is visually impaired, and his son 'Lim Dong-hwan', expanding the range of his acting. He enhanced the completeness of his performance by wearing a wig to portray 'young Lim Young-kyu' for a clear contrast between the two characters.

In addition, to realistically portray the character of 'Lim Young-kyu', who makes a living selling stamps, he visited a stamp shop to learn the technique of engraving stamps and created personalized stamps for director Yeon Sang-ho, Shin Hyun-bin, Lim Sung-jae, and the staff, fostering a friendly atmosphere on set. Kwon Hae-hyo, who plays the same character 'Lim Young-kyu', perfectly synchronized his acting and gaze with Park Jeongmin's performance, which was filmed earlier, showing the demeanor of a seasoned actor just by placing his hand on the stamp mold and gazing ahead, earning praise from the director and staff.

Shin Hyun-bin had to undertake the most challenging filming as an actor, taking on the role of 'Jung Young-hee', the protagonist of the mystery hidden in the film, who disappeared without a trace 40 years ago, with the mission that her face should not be exposed during filming. To express the character 'Jung Young-hee', she will act in ways other than her face, such as using her hands, shoulders, and voice, showcasing her exceptional character analysis and a completely new style of acting.

Lim Sung-jae gained weight for the role of 'Baek Joo-sang', the owner of a clothing factory in the Cheonggyecheon area, and transformed into a realistic appearance that would fit in the streets of the 1970s, even wearing a wig in the hot summer.

Han Ji-hyun, who played the character 'Kim Soo-jin', a documentary PD whose character traits change according to the flow of the story, approached her first filming in a state of tension so intense that her face twitched, but after a passionate acting discussion with her co-actor Park Jeongmin and director Yeon Sang-ho, she managed to incorporate detailed changes in her performance, surprising everyone on set. The dedication of the actors, who united with their love for the film 〈Face〉, will be fully reflected in the movie, which is set to meet the audience on September 11.
