Actress Shin Hyun-bin shared her thoughts on taking on a role where her face is not revealed in the movie 〈The Ugly〉.
In a video released on the 10th on YouTube channel Sibooya, Shin Hyun-bin, who appeared alongside Park Jung-min, talked about various behind-the-scenes stories related to her new film 〈The Ugly〉 and her growth process as an actress.
On that day, Shin Hyun-bin said, "I took on a role where my face is not visible in this film. At first, my instinct was to act in a way that would be well-captured by the camera, but if my face was visible, it would immediately be NG, so I consciously tried to avoid angles that would show my face," adding, "This was my first experience like this, and while it was perplexing, in some ways, I felt free." She continued, "Since my expressions are not visible, I ended up finding other ways to express myself, and that itself was a new experience." Additionally, Shin Hyun-bin mentioned, "Since my face is not shown, I had a lot of time to think about how I could express myself in other ways, and in the end, there were moments when I felt liberated."
The film 〈The Ugly〉, in which Shin Hyun-bin and Park Jung-min collaborated, was released on September 11 and is currently showing in theaters in South Korea.
