The film 〈Project Y〉, which garnered attention by being officially invited to the Special Presentation section of the 50th Toronto International Film Festival, successfully completed its world premiere screening with director Lee Hwan and actors Han Sohee and Jeon Jong-seo in attendance. 〈Project Y〉 depicts the story of Mi-sun (Han Sohee) and Do-kyung (Jeon Jong-seo), who have nothing but each other, as they steal hidden black money and gold bars to escape their harsh reality. From September 4 (Thursday) to September 14 (Sunday), the Toronto International Film Festival is taking place, and after confirming the attendance of director Lee Hwan and actors Han Sohee and Jeon Jong-seo, 〈Project Y〉 has attracted local hot reactions after completing its world premiere screening at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Before the first premiere screening, director Lee Hwan and actors Han Sohee and Jeon Jong-seo appeared on the red carpet amidst the warm welcome and flashes from festival fans. The presence of Han Sohee and Jeon Jong-seo, who are active not only in Korea but also as global stars, heated up the atmosphere, and they had a friendly time responding to fans' requests for autographs and photos with bright smiles. The first premiere screening of 〈Project Y〉 took place at the Princess of Wales Theatre, one of the largest theaters among those screening invited films at the festival, with a capacity of 1,721 seats.

After the film ended, a Q&A session was held with director Lee Hwan and actors Han Sohee and Jeon Jong-seo, who engaged in discussions with the audience. Director Lee Hwan first explained the reason for casting the two actors, saying, "Both Han Sohee and Jeon Jong-seo evoke a generally girl-crush image, but I believed that they could provide a pleasant sense of betrayal from the images we already know of them, and that there are aspects they can sufficiently showcase, which is why I cast them. Additionally, since both actors are icons of the current era receiving immense public support, I wanted to work with them together." Han Sohee, who played the role of 'Mi-sun', shared her reason for participating in the film, stating, "First of all, the script was very interesting. Also, I found it fascinating that two actors of the same age and gender were captured in one frame of the film." Jeon Jong-seo, who played the role of 'Do-kyung', expressed her deep affection for the 〈Project Y〉 team, saying, "There are moments when all the circumstances align perfectly, such as having a fellow actress of the same age, a good script, a good director, and a good production team. It was an opportunity to work on such a shoot, and I really wanted to participate." Various questions about the film followed, and each time answers were given, applause from the audience continued, drawing hot reactions locally.

Having successfully completed its premiere screening at the Toronto International Film Festival, 〈Project Y〉 is raising expectations for its domestic release with the unique chemistry of actors Han Sohee and Jeon Jong-seo and the lively and funky crime drama they will present. Following the Toronto International Film Festival, 〈Project Y〉 will be released first through the Busan International Film Festival before meeting domestic audiences.
