The captivating performances of Lim Yoon-a and Lee Chae-min in key scenes, the tension of the cooking competition, and the stunning direction have driven the rise in ratings. Starting with 4.9% in its first episode, ‘The Tyrant's Chef’ has surpassed the 15% mark in just 8 episodes, achieving the highest ratings among mini-series this year.
The work features a fantastic cooking battle and gourmet fantasy between a French Michelin chef who time slips to the Joseon era and a tyrant king (played by Lee Chae-min) with absolute taste, blending elements of a neat romantic comedy while delivering both food entertainment and healing, along with tension in every episode. In episode 8, Lim Yoon-a (playing Yeon Ji-young) captivates the king's royal table with a secret fusion dish combining braised short ribs and beef bourguignon, maximizing dramatic tension by impressing the Ming Dynasty envoy.
