In commemoration of the 1st anniversary of overcoming the 12.3 insurrection, the documentary film 〈The President We Made, The People Do It〉 has confirmed its release in November and unveiled the first poster and teaser trailer. Abbreviated as 〈Umandae〉, it is a documentary that records the heartfelt solidarity of citizens who rose with cheering sticks during the 12.3 insurrection and the fierce election campaign to create a new Republic of Korea.

〈The President We Made, The People Do It〉 abbreviated as 〈Umandae〉 has released its first poster. The first poster evokes strong emotions as it features the massive wave of ‘light revolution’ brought forth by K-pop cheering sticks, reminding us of the immense anger towards the illegal insurrection. Additionally, the image of President Lee Jae-myung, who created the ‘light revolution’, clenching his fist captures attention. Furthermore, the copy ‘1st Anniversary Commemorative Work of Overcoming the 12.3 Insurrection’ indicates that this film is a tribute to all citizens who stood together over the past year. 〈Umandae〉 aims to focus not just on listing past events but on the dynamic images of citizens who rose again during the crisis of democracy, and videos closely covering the fierce scenes of the 21st presidential election, where passionate solidarity gathered, will also be released. Meanwhile, 〈Umandae〉 is directed by Jo Eun-sung of 〈1984 Choi Dong-won〉 and features music direction by Shin Dae-cheol, the leader and guitarist of the legendary band Sinawe.

The teaser trailer released alongside comes in two versions. The teaser ‘Night of Insurrection’ begins with soldiers storming the National Assembly, accompanied by the narration of then-Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung’s plea, “Please come to the National Assembly,” capturing the anger of citizens showcasing the ‘light revolution’ against the illegal insurrection and the moment of cheers during the impeachment. Even brief moments passing through Yeouido, Gwanghwamun, and Namtaeryeong, including the Kisses Corps and Marine Corps Reserve Unit, reveal the greatness of the citizens and affirm that our year was not in vain. The other teaser ‘Day of Oath’ narrates the presidential oath of Lee Jae-myung, the president created by the great people, on June 4, 2025. Although the narration differs, the two teasers evoke different emotions through the urgent and earnest ‘Night of Insurrection’ and the hopeful ‘Day of Oath’ for a new Republic of Korea, generating anticipation for the film. 〈Umandae〉 will provide a small pause in the ongoing fight, reviving as a festival just one year after the illegal insurrection.
