
President Lee Jae-myung will meet with director Maggie Kang of the Netflix animation 〈K-Pop Demon Hunters〉. The presidential office announced that President Lee Jae-myung will appear on the special program of Arirang International Broadcasting 〈K-Pop: The Next Chapter〉 at 5 PM on August 20 to discuss the current status and future vision of the K-Pop industry with domestic and international musicians. This program will feature not only director Maggie Kang but also TWICE members Jihyo and Jeongyeon, music producer R.Tee, and critic Kim Young-dae, representing K-Pop. The host will be broadcaster Jang Seong-kyu.
The presidential office stated, "We plan to deeply explore various topics such as the global status of K-Pop, its potential as global content, and future visions, along with voices from the field," and added, "We will actively reflect the insights from the industry heard through the program in future policy direction setting." President Lee Jae-myung is accelerating efforts related to the importance of revitalizing the K-Culture industry.
〈K-Pop Demon Hunters〉 has proven the impact of K-Pop content by ranking high on global charts since its release on Netflix in June. The OST 'Golden' achieved number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States. Recently, President Lee Jae-myung stated in a cabinet meeting, "K-Culture is a new engine for enhancing national power," and called for comprehensive measures to support the K-Pop industry and expand infrastructure.
