This November, the only mystery occult film in theaters, 〈The Savior〉, has confirmed its release on November 5 and unveiled two teaser posters and the main trailer. The film 〈The Savior〉 tells the story of ‘Young-beom’ and ‘Sun-hee’ who move to the blessed land of Obok-ri, where miraculous events occur, and they discover that all of this is the price of someone else's misfortune, leading to a mystery occult tale.
The two teaser posters released this time vividly showcase the film's worldview and atmosphere, capturing attention. The first poster, featuring the phrase ‘Welcome. This is the miraculous village of Obok-ri,’ depicts an old, damaged sign covered in stained traces, creating a chilling contrast to the phrase of a miraculous village, leaving a strong impression. The second poster shows a scene where a bloodied hand is clasped over one’s own eyes, creating an overwhelming atmosphere. Coupled with the copy ‘If you wish earnestly, it will come true,’ it reveals the instinctive desire of humans yearning for miracles, evoking intense tension.
The trailer, which was first released last Monday, begins with eerie music that permeates the village of Obok-ri, creating an unknown tension that heightens interest in the work. Behind the surprised ‘Young-beom’ (Kim Byung-chul), his son, who could not walk due to an accident, begins to walk, signaling the start of miracles and raising curiosity about the events to unfold. ‘Sun-hee’ (Song Ji-hyo), who was giving a testimony at church, comforts ‘Chun-seo’ (Kim Hee-ra), who desires a miracle, saying, “If you endure, good things will surely happen.” The scene where ‘Chun-seo’ touches her own hand and ‘Sun-hee’ brings a mysterious bloodied hand over her own eyes connects, simultaneously evoking tension and anticipation. The copy ‘My miracle is completed by your curse’ alongside the images of ‘Young-beom’, ‘Sun-hee’, and ‘Chun-seo’ reveals the truth of Obok-ri, where miracles and curses intertwine, delivering a powerful message about the intersection of human desire and choice, maximizing anticipation for the film.
