Park Hee-soon, "What are your thoughts on 'Confidence Man KR' and 'No Other Choice' being released around the same time? It's even more interesting as they are different types of works"

Actor Park Hee-soon shared his thoughts on the conclusion of 〈Confidence Man KR〉.

Park Hee-soon played the role of 'James', the mastermind of disguises and the spiritual support of the 'Confidence Man' team, in the TV Chosun weekend miniseries 〈Confidence Man KR〉, which ended on the 12th. He captivated viewers with unpredictable faces in each episode. In particular, he led the rhythm of the drama with unwavering acting amidst diverse character transformations, balancing charm and charisma to create a three-dimensional character in 'James'.

Q. The drama 〈Confidence Man KR〉 has come to an end. Please share your thoughts on wrapping up the project. 

A. It feels bittersweet to have completed the filming and broadcasting that started last year and continued into this year. I sincerely thank all the viewers both domestically and internationally who have joined us.

Q. The character 'James', who appeared with a different face each episode, has garnered a lot of attention from viewers. Was there a particular comment that left a strong impression on you?

A. The comment, "Why does every disguise and transformation suit you so well?" was the most impressive. (haha)

Q. There were many reactions saying that the chemistry of the 'Conmen' team in the drama was perfect. How was the acting chemistry with the fellow actors?

A. The close relationship we had in real life naturally carried over into the drama, resulting in great chemistry. Sometimes we relied on each other like friends, and sometimes like family, which made for a joyful and happy time. I thank the two actors I worked with.

Q. 'James' underwent deep internal changes between friendship, love, and guilt. What did you focus on the most when expressing that emotional line?

A. James's personal narrative stemmed from his relationship with the 'Conmen', so the beginning of all emotions was ultimately affection for them. I tried to act with that feeling at the center.

Q. What kind of work will 〈Confidence Man KR〉 remain for actor Park Hee-soon? 

A. I think it will be remembered as a work that relieved my long-suppressed thirst. It was a project where I could play freely and joyfully. (haha)

Q. Although the drama has ended, it seems that the 'Conmen' team's operations are still ongoing somewhere. If 'James' were to return, what kind of appearance would you like to see?

A. I would like to redefine the characters that I have shown briefly with a solid narrative and add deeper and richer emotions. Of course, I want to introduce new characters to create a more colorful and substantial story.

Q. While wrapping up the drama 〈Confidence Man KR〉, you are also meeting audiences with the movie 〈No Other Choice〉. What are your thoughts on presenting both works around the same time?

A. Since the filming periods were the same and the release times were almost similar, I can't think of the two works separately; they are very special to me. Although they are different types of works, perhaps that’s why viewers found them even more interesting. Both works hold precious meanings for me.
