
Kim Sang-young, the bassist of the band Teardrop and a former automotive journalist, passed away in the early hours of the 21st. He was 41 years old and ended his life at such a young age after battling cancer.
The official account of the band Teardrop stated on the 21st, "Our beloved bassist Kim Sang-young has left us too soon this morning," adding, "He was a friend who loved the band and music more than anyone else, and his passion was overflowing. We cannot contain our heavy and sad hearts."
Teardrop leader Kim Ho-se stated in an interview with Ilgan Sports, "He was undergoing chemotherapy while battling cancer, but his condition worsened about 3-4 months ago, and he passed away this morning."
It is known that Kim Sang-young continued to participate in the work for Teardrop's regular album even while receiving chemotherapy, not letting go of his passion for music until the last moment. His dedication to music while fighting against illness left a deep impression on many.
The deceased's mortuary has been set up at the special room 1 of Seoul Red Cross Hospital. The funeral will be held at 10 AM on the 23rd, and the burial site is Seoul City Crematorium.
