Actress Jung Ryeo-won announced that she is challenging herself in her first thriller genre through her return to the screen after 7 years with 〈The Woman in the White Car〉. In this film, which will be released on the 29th, Jung Ryeo-won expressed, "I approached the filming with the mindset of burning everything down."

Jung Ryeo-won said, "I thought, 'Is this really going to work?' because if I can't convince the audience, it's game over, but the filming itself was so much fun that I gradually gained confidence," adding, "It was a work that I joyfully filmed in an awakened state."

〈The Woman in the White Car〉 is a thriller film that depicts the story of writer Do-kyung (played by Jung Ryeo-won) who brings her bloodied sister to the hospital and approaches the truth of the incident amidst her confused memories. This is the feature debut of director Ko Hye-jin, who formed a connection with Jung Ryeo-won while working as an assistant director on the drama 〈Diary of a Prosecutor〉 (2019), and it is said that she had Jung Ryeo-won and Lee Jung-eun in mind for their roles from the script stage.

This work won the 'Best International Feature' award at the 22nd San Diego International Film Festival and gained attention by winning two awards at the 26th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival.

Jung Ryeo-won recalled about the filming process, saying, "It felt less like work and more like something close friends were doing together, starting with the feeling of trying various things." Although there were many filming scenes set against a winter snowy field, which made it difficult due to the cold, she stated that she willingly endured barefoot filming due to the heat on set.

She reflected, "The atmosphere on set was one where everyone cherished each other, and I thought such a set is rare."

Regarding director Ko Hye-jin, she commented, "She is a director who has affection and respect for each actor," and added, "Like a herding dog, a 'Border Collie', she had a leadership style that guided us appropriately without being excessive." She continued, "(Director Ko) is skilled and has a good personality, so she received praise and affection from all the seniors during the filming of 〈Diary of a Prosecutor〉 as well."

About Lee Jung-eun, who plays the role of police officer Hyun-joo, she said, "Her filming appearance and her attitude towards life are that of a truly beautiful adult," adding, "I felt that I wanted to grow old with her way of thinking."

〈The Woman in the White Car〉 was originally planned to be produced as a two-part drama until the filming stage, but it was reborn as a movie during the editing process. Jung Ryeo-won reflected, "Even on set, while monitoring, we actors talked about how it felt like a movie," and said, "It was a fascinating experience to see the process of combining parts 1 and 2 into a film."

She added, "I didn't expect there to be a big difference just because the media is different between a short drama and a movie, but after seeing the completed work, I felt that there is definitely something special about watching a movie on a big screen."

This film features delicate sensory descriptions that induce tension, such as the sound of footsteps on the snowy ground and the sound of blood being splattered, set against the bleak winter snowy field. Jung Ryeo-won stated, "It seems that the energy of the set where the work was created is also contained in the movie," and expressed her evaluation that it is a work that is good to look back on as an actor and to watch as an audience member as well.
