Gian84, Running in the Desert "It's Hell" Scream... MBC 'Extreme 84' Premieres on November 30

Webtoon artist and broadcaster Gian84 is coming to viewers with MBC's new variety show 'Extreme 84', which captures his challenge of testing his limits through an ultra-extreme marathon. It will premiere on November 30.

Hell Course Beyond 42.195km

'Extreme 84' features Gian84 diving into a mind-blowing marathon course that exceeds 42.195km, depicting the process of testing himself in extreme environments. This program is produced as a franchise project that expands the rainbow universe of MBC's representative variety show 'I Live Alone'.

The teaser video released on the 31st shows Gian84 running alone through the vast wilderness, particularly in the deserts of Southern Africa, Namibia, and South Africa. As he gasped for breath, he expressed his self-deprecating thoughts with "Why did I say I would do this?" and lamented, "This isn't running!". The poster added the phrase "Expedition MARATHON Crew Testing Limits", hinting at the extreme beginning.

"This is Hell, I Should Report It to the UN"

After enduring extreme pain, Gian84 showed shocking signs, sweating profusely and vomiting. He burst into a hollow laugh, saying, "This was hell. Hell!" and humorously transformed his pain by stating, "They made a mistake with the competition, I should report it to the UN".

Actor Kwon Hwa-woon will also participate in the challenge. Kwon Hwa-woon recorded 2 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds in his first full marathon just 6 months after starting running.

Gian84 has been active as a 'lifestyle runner', completing the Cheongju Marathon in 2023 and the New York Marathon in 2024. The production team stated, "We plan to convey a powerful emotion that captures the narrative of humanity completed through endurance and perseverance, not just simple running."
