Global actor Lee Jung-jae and box office goddess Lim Ji-yeon have challenged the romantic comedy genre with tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Annoying Love'. This drama, which premiered on the 3rd, recorded a nationwide rating of 5.5% (based on Nielsen Korea paid platforms), making it a hot topic as the 2nd highest-rated Monday-Tuesday drama on tvN in 2025.

'Annoying Love' depicts the chemistry between a national actor who has lost his original intention and a celebrity reporter who is obsessed with achieving justice. Lee Jung-jae plays the role of top star Im Hyun-jun, who is trapped in the image of a righteous detective, while Lim Ji-yeon plays the role of reporter Wi Jeong-shin, who has been demoted from the political department to the entertainment department, engaging in a tense battle of nerves.

Lee Jung-jae stated, "Having done many serious works, I wanted to try something light and lively," explaining his reason for choosing the project. As this is his return to TV dramas after six years, he is showcasing cheerful and seasoned comic acting, radiating new charm. In particular, before the first broadcast, he made a promise that if the ratings exceeded 3%, he would dress up as Prince Suyang and hold a fan signing event in Myeongdong, which became a hot topic as the first episode achieved a rating of 5.5%, fulfilling the promise condition.

Lim Ji-yeon explained her choice of a bright and lovely character by saying, "I’m done with dark and suffering roles." In the drama, Jeong-shin shows her transformation by binge-watching the drama 'Good Detective Kang Pil-goo' and developing feelings for Im Hyun-jun. The second episode recorded an average rating of 4.8% and a peak of 5.6%, ranking first in the same time slot including cable and general programming channels.

Kim Ji-hoon, who shares the screen, plays Lee Jae-hyung, the president of a major league sports agency, while Seo Ji-hye plays Yoon Hwa-young, the youngest head of the entertainment department, enhancing the quality of the work. The collaboration between director Kim Ga-ram of 'Good Partner' and writer Jeong Yeon-rang, who created a syndrome with 'Doctor Cha Jeong-sook', is also highly anticipated.
