MC Mong Hangs 'Hitler Portrait' in His Home... Past Controversy Resurfaces

Singer MC Mong has come under fire for revealing photos of his home on his SNS.

Recently, MC Mong posted photos of the interior of his home with the background music titled 'Home Sweet Home'. The photos showcased a neat interior, but a portrait hanging on the wall halfway up the stairs caught the attention of netizens.

The issue was a portrait hanging at the top of the stairs alongside three figures. The portrait was confirmed to be that of Adolf Hitler, the dictator who led the Holocaust in Nazi Germany and was a war criminal during World War II.

Upon seeing this, netizens expressed discomfort with comments like "Is this real?", "Is this really his home?", "He didn't consider historical sensitivity", and "Did he hang it knowing what it represents?" The criticism has intensified given that Hitler is a notorious figure responsible for the massacre of countless Jews.

Criticism continued on online communities and SNS, stating that it was an action that completely disregarded historical sensitivity. There were particular concerns about displaying the portrait of such a historically sensitive figure in one's home.

MC Mong, who was effectively ousted from the broadcasting industry due to military service controversies, established the production company One Hundred Label in 2023 with the chairman of the Chagawon Peak Group. However, he announced a sudden decision to study abroad after stepping away from the operations of One Hundred Label in July.

At that time, MC Mong stated, "I have been suffering from severe depression and my health has deteriorated to the point where it is difficult to make music due to a surgery," explaining his decision to study abroad. However, in September, he faced backlash again for revealing photos taken over a year ago without the consent of Lee Seung-gi and Lee Da-in.

The current controversy over the Hitler portrait is receiving even greater criticism in connection with MC Mong's past military service fraud case. As of now, MC Mong's side has not provided any separate statement regarding this matter.
