Oh Young-soo has been acquitted in the appeal trial related to the charges of forced sexual assault.

Actor Oh Young-soo was indicted without detention in 2022 for the charge of forced sexual assault. He was accused of hugging a theater member, referred to as A, and kissing him on the cheek in front of his residence in 2017. Subsequently, in the first trial, Oh Young-soo was sentenced to 8 months in prison, 2 years of probation, and 40 hours of sexual violence treatment program.

However, on November 11, 2025, during the appeal trial, the court overturned the first trial's ruling and declared Oh Young-soo not guilty. The court stated, "The victim reluctantly agreed to the defendant's suggestion of 'let's hug,' and the hug took place, but the intensity of the hug or the specific details of the act are not clearly specified. It is difficult to conclude that there was forced sexual assault based solely on that fact."

Oh Young-soo faced difficulties such as having scenes edited from his works and receiving a ban from appearing on KBS due to the forced sexual assault charges. Regarding the not guilty verdict in the appeal trial, the victim stated, "This disgraceful ruling by the judiciary contributes to solidifying the structure of sexual violence occurrences and hierarchical structures," while Oh Young-soo expressed, "I pay my respects and gratitude to the court for the wise ruling."
