2025 Game Awards Nominees Announced, 'Claire Obscure: Expedition 33' Nominated for Record 12 Categories

On November 18, the nominees for the prestigious video game industry awards, the ‘2025 Game Awards’, were officially announced.
This year’s biggest highlight is that the French game development company Sandfall Interactive’s ‘Claire Obscure: Expedition 33’ has been nominated for a record 12 categories.

This record is interpreted as a result of the industry highly valuing the glamorous lineup featuring Hollywood actors such as Andy Serkis, Charlie Cox, and Ben Stiller, as well as the innovation of the game. The work has been nominated in major categories such as ‘Game of the Year’, ‘Best RPG’, and ‘Best Game Direction’, making it a top contender for this year’s awards.

Additionally, ‘Death Stranding 2: On the Beach’ (8 categories), ‘Ghost of Yotai’ (8 categories), ‘Hades II’ (6 categories), and ‘Hollow Knight: Silksong’ (5 categories) have also received multiple nominations, attracting the interest of gamers.

In the ‘Game of the Year’ category, six works are competing: ‘Claire Obscure: Expedition 33’, ‘Death Stranding 2: On the Beach’, ‘Donkey Kong Banana’, ‘Hades II’, ‘Hollow Knight: Silksong’, and ‘Kingdom Come: Deliverance II’.

By publisher, Sony Interactive Entertainment leads with 19 nominations, followed by Kepler Interactive with 13, and Electronic Arts and Microsoft with 10 each.
The selection of nominees was conducted by a jury composed of over 150 global media and creators. The awards ceremony will be held on December 11 (local time), and fan voting will take place on the official website until December 10 at 6 PM (PST). The announcement of the main category winners will be accompanied by the global premiere of various new trailers through live broadcasts.
