Director James Cameron has revealed the possibility of a sequel to 〈Alita: Battle Angel〉.

Currently, with the release of 〈Avatar: The Way of Water〉 approaching, James Cameron mentioned the sequel to 〈Alita: Battle Angel〉 at an event. The 2019 film 〈Alita: Battle Angel〉 is a live-action adaptation of the manga 「Battle Angel Alita」, which Cameron has long desired, and he took on the screenplay and production while directing the 〈Avatar〉 series. The film was directed by Robert Rodriguez.

Recently, he stated in a media interview that he has committed to making a sequel to 〈Alita: Battle Angel〉 with director Robert Rodriguez. He mentioned that he made a "blood oath" and expressed that while it would be great to make up to three films, he would be satisfied with at least one more. He even hinted at starting production, mentioning that he has secured a home in Austin, Texas, just 5 kilometers away from Rodriguez's house.

〈Alita: Battle Angel〉 starred Rosa Salazar, Christoph Waltz, Keean Johnson, Mahershala Ali, and others. Upon its release, it achieved a global box office of $400 million.
