"Current Affairs Like Entertainment!" Idol Current Affairs Variety 'Gonari Idol: NEW STEP' Released on Tving

A new format of current affairs variety show is being released.

Today (18th), the released 〈Gonari Idol: NEW STEP〉 is an idol version spin-off presented by the production team of the current affairs knowledge commentary variety 〈Gonari-ja〉. 'Gonari' is a word that started from a typo of 'management (管理)', and the program presents the concept of an idol, known as 'the best at self-management', becoming the 'Gonari-ja' of this era, commenting on current affairs knowledge and the happenings of the world.

Tving has scheduled 〈Gonari Idol: NEW STEP〉 in the 'News' category within Tving. This is a strategic attempt by Tving to expand the boundaries of existing news and current affairs content and lower the news consumption barriers for the younger generation. Tving has decided to release new episodes every Tuesday at 7 AM, based on user patterns showing high viewership ratings for news channels during weekday mornings.

The member of the idol group fromis_9, Park Ji-won, who takes on the role of sole MC for 〈Gonari Idol: NEW STEP〉, aims to create new current affairs and news-type content that starts with light curiosity and gradually incorporates depth through episodes addressing educational and social implications. The production team explained, "By having idols actively comment on social issues, we will add a light approach and fresh depth to topics that may feel heavy for the MZ generation."

Tving 〈Gonari Idol: NEW STEP〉 consists of a total of 16 episodes, with the first episode released today (18th) at 7 AM through the Tving 'News Tab', and new episodes will be released every Tuesday thereafter.
