Prosecution Files Appeal Against Verdict of Sexual Assault Charges Against Oh Young-soo

The prosecution has filed an appeal against the verdict related to actor Oh Young-soo.

Oh Young-soo, who appeared in 〈Squid Game〉, was indicted without detention on charges of sexual assault in November 2022. He was accused of sexually assaulting a female member by hugging her and kissing her on the cheek twice during the summer of 2017.

In the first trial in March 2024, he received an 8-month prison sentence with a 2-year probation. However, in the appeal trial in November 2025, he was acquitted, overturning the original verdict.

Subsequently, on November 18, it was reported that the prosecution submitted an appeal to the Suwon District Court on November 17, citing misunderstandings of legal principles as the reason for their objection to the ruling. A misunderstanding of legal principles refers to cases where the interpretation or application of the law is incorrect, violating the constitution, laws, orders, etc., and that violation affects the verdict.
