In November 2020, Kim Min-jong garnered great interest from viewers by revealing his modest life with minimal belongings in a container in the mountains of Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province on 'My Little Old Boy'.

He shared an anecdote about how people misunderstood him at that time, saying, "Since I was growing my hair and beard, they would ask, 'Why are you living like that?', 'Are you having a hard time these days?'" He then revealed an incident that sparked the rumor, saying, "It's not a joke, I went to a restaurant, and they didn't charge me for the meal".

When the rumor of 'eating without paying' was mentioned, Kim Min-jong immediately clarified, saying, "I tried to pay, but they didn't accept it."

Kim Min-jong explained that after suddenly losing his mother in 2020, he set up a temporary residence close to his mother's grave to soothe his heart, clearly stating that the container house life was a dramatic setting for broadcasting.

At that time on 'My Little Old Boy', Kim Min-jong showed a down-to-earth side by washing his face with wet wipes and eating instant food in the container house.
