Netflix Japan, Korean Novel 「My Crazy Feminist Girlfriend」 Adaptation... Starring Mei Nagano

Netflix Japan is producing a film adaptation of the novel 「My Crazy Feminist Girlfriend」 by author Min Ji-hyung.

On the 3rd, Netflix announced that the original film 〈My Crazy Feminist Girlfriend〉 starring Mei Nagano will be released in 2026. 〈My Crazy Feminist Girlfriend〉 is a romantic comedy film based on the author's novel of the same name. The original novel garnered significant attention for its intense title and its direct portrayal of the realities faced by today's youth, shortly after its publication in Korea. The novel has been referred to as the "feminist version of 〈My Sassy Girl〉" and quickly went into reprints in Japan, sparking strong reactions and debates.

The film will be directed by Keiichi Kobayashi, who has directed Japanese dramas such as 〈Love is Light〉 and 〈New Reporter Torotko〉. According to Japanese media Women's Self, Mei Nagano is expected to start filming in mid-December.

The Netflix original film 〈My Crazy Feminist Girlfriend〉 will be released in 2026.
