Actor Yoo Seung-mok shared his thoughts on the conclusion of the JTBC weekend drama 〈Manager Kim's Story〉 (hereafter 〈Manager Kim's Story〉) as it wrapped up.
Ending with its 12th episode on November 30, 〈Manager Kim's Story〉 is a drama that depicts the journey of a middle-aged man who loses everything he thought was valuable in an instant and finally discovers his true self, not just as a head of a large corporation. Yoo Seung-mok received acclaim for his role as Baek Jeong-tae, Head of the ACT Sales Division, known as 'Baeksangmu'. He portrayed a complex character who, while personally caring for Manager Kim (played by Ryu Seung-ryong), makes unavoidable decisions to survive himself, having been through thick and thin with him since their entry into the company.
Yoo Seung-mok stated about Baeksangmu, "I think it will remain as my life character. Not only the character Baeksangmu but also the work 〈Manager Kim's Story〉 has become one of the life works among many I have done so far." He mentioned the most memorable scene was when he said "I'm sorry" to Manager Kim, who was shouting that he was still useful after being invited to his house and finishing a meal in episode 4. He also found the scene where he got into a physical altercation with Manager Kim at a sushi restaurant in episode 6 to be impressive.
Yoo Seung-mok opened a SNS account while working on this project, and his first post was a photo of himself with Manager Kim and Baeksangmu. He revealed, "I started SNS at the suggestion of senior Ryu Seung-ryong." To the viewers, he expressed, "I heard that some people couldn't watch it because it felt too much like their own story. I hope you see it as a work that realistically blends well with such stories."
Meanwhile, Yoo Seung-mok has been active in significant works such as the film 〈Unofficial Operation〉, 〈Decision to Leave〉, and the dramas 〈Moving〉, 〈Criminal Record〉, and 〈Taxi Driver〉, portraying various characters that traverse good and evil.
