Between the romance of Paris and the passion of Rome, the second act of Emily Cooper's life has begun. Netflix's mega-hit series 'Emily in Paris' has made a glamorous return with Season 5.
On the 19th (Korean time), Netflix simultaneously released all 10 episodes of 'Emily in Paris' Season 5 worldwide. Unlike the previous season's split release of parts 1 and 2, this time binge-watching is possible, much to the fans' delight.
◆ "Should We Change the Title?"... Emily in Rome
The key word for this season is 'expansion'. Producer Darren Star stated, "This season tells the story of two cities, Paris and Rome," adding, "Emily's presence will definitely remain in Rome, but that doesn't mean she is leaving Paris." After starting a romance with Marcello, the heir of an Italian fashion family, at the end of Season 4, Emily takes on the role of 'Head of the Rome Branch of Agence Grateau' in Season 5. According to the official synopsis, Emily struggles to adapt to a new city and love, but her ambitiously prepared work ideas backfire, leading to a series of crises in both her career and romance. In particular, a "big secret that threatens her closest relationships" is set to be revealed, adding to the tension.
◆ A Drastically Changed Style, and New Faces
Emily, played by Lily Collins, recently appeared on 'Good Morning America' and hinted at a dramatic hairstyle transformation for Season 5, saying, "I cut my hair whenever I need a change." Her new fashion, set against the backdrop of the Venice canals and Roman ruins, is expected to lead global trends once again.
With original members like 'Mindy' Ashley Park and 'Gabriel' Lucas Bravo still in the mix, glamorous new faces have also joined. Academy Award-nominated actress Minnie Driver plays the role of 'Princess Jane', while Brian Greenberg and Michelle LaRocque appear as Jake and Yvette, respectively, adding weight to the story.
◆ When is Season 6?
Netflix has not yet officially confirmed the production of Season 6, but the industry predicts a very high likelihood of renewal considering the series' unique buzz. From the rooftops of Paris to the Colosseum in Rome, Emily's struggles to balance work and love can be checked out right now on Netflix.
