The long-awaited return of the group NewJeans as a complete five-member group has ultimately been thwarted. Member Danielle has been notified of her contract termination by her agency Ador and will be leaving the team.
On the 29th, Ador announced in an official statement that "the exclusive contract with our artist Danielle has been terminated as of today."
◆ "Trust has collapsed... Difficult to continue together"
Ador stated, "Over the past year, we have made various efforts to restore our relationship with the artist, but in Danielle's case, we ultimately judged that it would be difficult to maintain trust and continue activities as an artist under Ador." While specific internal circumstances have not been disclosed, the industry views this as a result of unresolved conflicts between the artist and the agency stemming from the legal battles between Hybe and former Ador management that began in 2024.
◆ 'Bunnies' in tears... The five-member NewJeans goes down in history
As a result, the 'five-member complete group' activities of NewJeans have become virtually impossible. The fandom 'Bunnies' had been eagerly awaiting the return and resumption of activities of the members starting in the second half of 2025, but they now face the worst-case scenario of Danielle's departure. Especially since Danielle was a key member who formed the group's identity with her unique bright energy and distinctive vocal tone, the shock among fans is even greater.

◆ What will happen to the remaining members?
With Danielle's contract termination, a red light has been turned on regarding the future of the remaining members (Minji, Hani, Haerin, Hyein). According to reports, Ador mentioned other members, including Hani, in their statement today, hinting at future actions, making it impossible to rule out the possibility of further departures or legal disputes.
Debuting in 2022 and causing a sensation, NewJeans was called 'the future of K-pop.' However, caught in adult conflicts, they now face a team survival crisis after three years, leaving a bitter mark on the music industry by the end of 2025.
