The music platform Melon has announced that singer WOODZ has reached the top, creating a 'reverse run myth' in the 2025 annual chart.

According to the '2025 Domestic and Overseas Annual Chart Top 100' released by Melon on the 8th, WOODZ's 'Drowning' has secured the number one spot on the domestic annual chart, surpassing fierce competitors. Released in 2023, this song gained popularity late and demonstrated its ability to climb the charts.

G-Dragon of Big Bang took second place with 'HOME SWEET HOME', featuring Taeyang and Daesung. Following that, Hwang Garam's 'I Am Firefly' ranked 4th, Jo Jae-joon's 'Don't You Know' came in 5th, and 10cm's 'I Hope It Reaches You' landed at 10th.

Members of the girl group BLACKPINK shone in both solo and group activities. Rosé's global mega hit 'APT.' ranked 6th, while Jennie's 'like JENNIE' ranked 11th. BLACKPINK's new song 'Run' also made it to 27th place.

The activities of rookie idol groups were also notable. BOYNEXTDOOR's 'I Love You Only Today' ranked 12th, and the mixed group All Day Project's 'Famous' ranked 23rd, signaling a generational shift in the charts.

Meanwhile, the group BTS continued their unprecedented record. Their hit song 'Spring Day' ranked 77th, achieving entry into the annual chart for 9 consecutive years. This is the longest charting record in Melon's history.

Released in 2017, 'Spring Day' started at 12th place in its release year and has made it to the charts every year, establishing itself as a 'classic' that surpassed the 'zombie song' status. Jungkook's solo song 'Seven' also reached 60th, achieving chart entry for 3 consecutive years.

In terms of chart share, aespa and DAY6 were overwhelming. Both groups entered 6 songs each into the chart, showcasing their status as 'music powerhouses'. aespa had multiple songs including the 3rd place 'Wipflash', while DAY6 had 6 songs including the 8th place 'Happy' in the rankings.

Following them, IVE and G-Dragon each had 5 songs, and Lee Mujin had 4 songs that made it onto the charts, receiving consistent love.

In overseas charts, the strength of Netflix animations stood out. The OST 'Golden' from the movie 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' took 1st place, and related 8 OSTs all entered the top 30, creating a surprising phenomenon.

'Soda Pop' (2nd), 'Your Idol' (4th), 'How It's Done' (6th) swept the top ranks. Additionally, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars' 'Die With a Smile' ranked 3rd, and the Japanese animation 'Chainsaw Man' OST 'Iris Out' ranked 9th.
