Seohyun to Perform with Orchestra After 5 Months of Violin Training

Seohyun, a member of Girls' Generation and an actress, is taking a bold challenge by performing as a soloist with an orchestra just 5 months after starting to learn the violin.

Her agency, Dream E&NT, announced on the 14th that Seohyun will appear as a special soloist at the 〈Sol Philharmonic Orchestra's 8th Regular Concert〉 to be held on March 13 (Friday) at 8 PM at Lotte Concert Hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul. On this stage, Seohyun is set to perform the famous piece 〈Csárdás〉 by Vittorio Monti, which features intense rhythms and poignant melodies.

The Heart of a ‘Barinist’... Pure Passion Over Perfection

The reason this collaboration is garnering more attention is that Seohyun is merely a ‘hobbyist’ who has been learning the violin for just over 5 months. Referring to herself as a ‘Barinist’ (Violin + Child), Seohyun expressed her affection and stated that she wants to share her pure heart and passion for music with the audience rather than the perfect technique of a professional performer.

Regarding this challenge, Seohyun said, “I hope many people will feel closer to classical music and discover new joys,” adding, “Just like popular music, I want to convey that classical music is also ‘music for all of us’ that anyone can enjoy easily and joyfully.”

A Special Stage Lowering the Barriers of Classical Music... Sharing the Stage with Professor Baek Joo-young

The 〈Sol Philharmonic Orchestra〉 that Seohyun is collaborating with is composed of enthusiasts who love classical music rather than professional performers, aligning with Seohyun's intention to support the passion of amateurs. An orchestra representative expressed anticipation, stating, “With Seohyun's participation, the barriers to classical performances will be lowered even further.”

Conducted by Jo Sang-wook, this concert will feature Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5, Marquez's Danzón No. 2, and Vivaldi's 'Spring' from The Four Seasons. Notably, the world-renowned violinist Baek Joo-young will also perform, adding weight to the stage.

Seohyun, who is continuously expanding her realm as an artist beyond acting, will have her special violin performance available for reservation through Lotte Concert Hall and NOL tickets.
