Netflix's popular entertainment program 〈Culinary Class Wars〉 that has swept the world into a cooking survival craze is returning for Season 3. This time, it’s a war of 'organizations' rather than individuals.
On the 16th, Netflix officially confirmed the production of the original entertainment show 〈Culinary Class Wars〉 Season 3 through its official SNS and began recruiting participants.
Notably, Season 3 has shifted its concept from the individual competition format of Seasons 1 and 2 to a team competition between restaurants. Chefs wishing to participate must form a team with 4 colleagues from the same restaurant. There are no restrictions on the cooking genre, and teams can be formed even if they work at different locations as long as they belong to the same brand.
However, teams formed arbitrarily by acquaintances who are not from the same workplace or do not have individual qualifications will be excluded from the application process. This is interpreted as the production team's intention to evaluate teamwork, crisis management skills, and organizational ability that occur in actual kitchens.
〈Culinary Class Wars〉 is a survival entertainment show where 'white spoon' chefs, who are certified star chefs with Michelin stars, compete against 'black spoon' chefs, who have not yet received public attention but possess outstanding skills.
Season 1, which aired for the first time in 2024, created a sensation by ranking first for three consecutive weeks in the non-English show category on Netflix, making it the first Korean entertainment program to achieve this. Season 2, released at the end of last year, also set a record of ranking first for two consecutive weeks, proving the series' box office power.
The production of Season 3 will once again see Kim Eun-ji, the PD from Studio Slam who led the success of Seasons 1 and 2, and writer Mo Eun-seol collaborate. Kim Eun-ji stated, "Thanks to the love from viewers around the world for Seasons 1 and 2, we are able to present Season 3," and expressed her determination to create a work that meets expectations for 'Culinary Class Wars' with an even more developed structure and fun.
